Hi Benny the Bee here, with a Buzzworthy Tip for your t-shirt drawer!
Springtime is here! It’s the time of year where we bees are busy, busy, busy! My message today is for all of my human friends. We usually associate Springtime with Spring cleaning and organizing our homes or personal spaces. Do you like it when each space in your home is organized, neat and tidy? I know I do! I love to “bee” tidy! An organized and tidy space makes me feel so much more relaxed. I’d like to share my organizational tips so that your space can be super tidy too.
Let’s tackle one space at a time starting with your dresser drawers, in particular the one where you keep all of your t-shirts. Do you typically stack your t-shirts and place them in the drawer? Do you open the drawer and reach for the top one and seem to wear the same one over and over again? Do you even know what t-shirts you have at the bottom of the drawer? If this sounds familiar, I have a solution for you.
First, remove all of the t-shirts from your drawer. Handle each t-shirt one at a time. Keep the ones that you’ll wear and the ones that you just can’t let go of yet. Discard the ones you no longer want or need.
Once you have the t-shirts you’ll put back into the drawer, it’s time to fold! The method we’ll use is called file-folding and it’s a game changer. File-folding your t-shirts and filing them into the drawers allows easy access to all of your t-shirts! You’ll be able to fit more t-shirts neatly into the drawer and the space looks super tidy!
Here are the steps for file-folding a t-shirt.
- Lay the shirt flat with the front side up.
- Fold one side of the shirt across at the center stopping right before the edge and fold the sleeve back.
- Fold the other side of the shirt across the center stopping right before the edge and fold the other sleeve back.
- Fold the top of the shirt down toward the bottom.
- Fold the folded edge of the shirt toward the bottom.
- Fold the shirt over again to create a small rectangle.
- Now stand your shirt upright.
Once all of your t-shirts are properly folded, file them into your drawer. You can arrange them by color, style, or however you choose! Give it a try and let me know what you think. I hope this simple way to “bee” just a little bit tidier brings you joy!
Let me know what space you’d like to tidy up and I’ll share more un-bee-lievable ways to help!
Buzzing away for now!
