Hello there, Hivemates! When was the last time you stepped outside of your comfort zone? You know, the space where everything is known and familiar. I could stay snuggled up in my cozy hive with all my bee friends but imagine what I would miss out on- all the opportunities to spread my wings and fly!
When you step away from your zone of comfort, you step towards your zone of growth. In this space you’ll increase your current skill set and stretch your abilities. I’m buzzing to share my helpful hints with you!
- Eliminate the excuses. Eliminate the but what ifs, and replace them with the imagine ifs. It’s a shift in mindset that will keep your positive thoughts at the forefront.
- Start small and set smart goals. Smart goals are those that are attainable. Give yourself a timeline to achieve what you want to accomplish and go for it.
- Give yourself grace. Trying something new or unfamiliar may take time. There may be missteps along the way and that is ok.
- Be reflective. Consider the impression or impact this something new has had on you. Think about what you learned about yourself.
- Celebrate your gains, no matter how small. Maybe you write yourself a note or look at yourself in the mirror and smile at the person you see. Small steps deserve to be celebrated.
Trying something new may open doors. It may introduce you to new friends, a new hobby that has you buzzing with excitement, or a new fitness habit that leaves your wings stronger than ever. Remember, moving just outside of your zone of comfort is one step closer to your zone of growth!
